Senior Bryant Briscoe’s 13 points were not enough for Mingus Union High School to overcome the speed and size of Flagstaff High School in a 60-42 loss to the Eagles on Monday night, Jan. 6.

Flagstaff senior Trevor Johnson led all scorers with 14 points in the victory, which was a double-digit margin from the first quarter on as the Eagles used numerous second-chance opportunities on the glass to jump out to a 22-5 first-quarter lead.

“We could’ve done better,” Marauders head boys basketball coach Mark Owens said. “We just weren’t able to string together back-to-back defensive possessions.”
