Saturday, Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Twice Nice Thriftique, 527 S. Main St., in Camp Verde will host the Twice Nice Fall Thrifty event with raffles and prizes for donated items, food trucks, a live radio broadcast and a live music performed by the sister duo Kaleidoscope Redrocks noon to 2 p.m.
“Home should feel like a safe place, but, for some it does not. In fact, it can be a place of fear and despair. Domestic violence affects all sectors of society and can be embarrassing to admit and address,” Gracie Moskoff, 20, and Tivona Moskoff, 17, the sister duo of Kaleidoscope Redrocks, stated. “It’s unfortunate that domestic violence exists in our society. VVS has been an important organization for us to support in the past with our own fundraising shows and Spring Thrifty events. Their mission is an invaluable service to our community for which we are grateful to participate.”
Kaleidoscope Redrocks will donate 100% of tips to the nonprofit.
Kaleidoscope Redrocks has released three albums: “Running Out Of Time” in 2023, “FOREVER” in 2024 and their most recent release from 2026, “Homesick.”
The sister duo also performs a wide range of cover songs spanning more than 60 years of classic rock, country, folk, pop, punk and patriotic genres while switching between acoustic and electric guitars, bass, keyboard and drums, sometimes playing multiple instruments simultaneously and singing in harmonies.
“Along with our mission, ‘To make people good,’ we have adopted the performance philosophy of the late singer-songwriter Harry Chapin, the first celebrity to use his stature to raise awareness and money for a worthy cause,” the sisters stated. “Harry’s philosophy was ‘I play one night for me and one night for the other guy.'”
Kaleidoscope Redrocks has raised almost $20,000 over the last eight years for several different veteran groups and organizations, including VVS.
Attendees can participate in a 50/50 raffle hosted by the Greater Verde Valley Chamber of Commerce.
“In addition to helping fund the program, the thrift stores provide clothing, furniture and household goods for survivors,” Twice Nice Camp Verde Store Manager Roberta Alegria said.
“The Thrifty events are a fun way to bring the community together and learn more about the mission of Verde Valley Sanctuary,” VVS Executive Director Jessye Johnson stated. “It’s been a pleasure for our staff from different parts of the organization to get an opportunity to engage with community members in a fun and relaxing way.”
The Fall Thrifty event will feature two food trucks.
The event coincides with October’s national Domestic Violence Awareness Month. VVS outreach and lay legal team members will be on site to answer questions.
VVS began more than three decades ago. VVS opened the first domestic violence shelter in the Verde Valley region in 1993 with a leased modular home that slept six. Since then, VVS has expanded to offer services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence in both residential and community-based formats.
VVS operates through grants, donors and the Twice Nice stores in Camp Verde and Sedona, which provides 25% of the 501(c)(3) nonprofit’s budget. VVS provides services to more than 1,500 survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault annually, including nearly 7,600 bed nights and answering almost 1,300 crisis hotline calls. Since 2020, VVS has housed an average of 150 clients in emergency shelter per year and doubled the number of survivors served in transitional housing since 2025.
