The Jerome Fire Station will be hosting the annual Jerome Santa Party on Saturday, Dec. 14, for the children age 12 and under who live in Jerome or who have a parent who works in Jerome. “Expecting mothers are also welcome to participate,” according to the event flyer.

“This tradition was started in the late 1970s and has been going on ever since with the help of many local residents and shop owners who donate towards our raffle to make the magic come true,” event co-organizer Kate Butcher said. “The Jerome Fire Department has always been an integral part of this tradition, with their special rides in the fire truck, as well as supporting the event on a variety of levels from organizing to hosting.”

Butcher co-organizes the event in collaboration with her sister Scout Butcher and the Jerome Town Hall, the Jerome Historical Society and the JFD.

“Children and grandchildren of Jerome residents and employees will be greeted by Santa himself for a magical morning, complete with a special gift,” Butcher said. “Afterwards, children and families are invited to take a ride around Jerome in the vintage fire engine.”

Parents interested in attending should RSVP to Butcher at (928) 301-6655 as soon as possible to secure their spot and receive the event time.
