Join the town of Clarkdale for its annual Old-Fashioned Fourth of July celebration on Friday, July 4. The festivities will kick off at 7 a.m. at the Clarkdale Town Park at 1001 Main Street and conclude at 11 a.m.
Clarkdale will offer traditional Independence Day activities throughout the morning. You’ll want to make sure you get to the park early so you don’t miss a thing.
The event will begin at 7 a.m. with the raising of the colors by members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7400 and a welcome address by Mayor Robyn Prud’homme-Bauer.
The pancake breakfast will run from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and will be hosted by the Clarkdale Police Department and Verde Valley Fire District. The cost for breakfast is $6 for adults and $4 for those 12 years and under. Credit and debit cards will be accepted.
The annual Kids’ Parade will start at 9 a.m. beginning at the Clarkdale-Jerome School. Cash prizes will be awarded for the best-decorated, most patriotic and most unique entries. Judges will be looking to award bonus points to entries reflecting Clarkdale’s strategic goals in creative ways:
- Honoring small-town charm in Clarkdale
- Honoring Clarkdale’s history, the Verde River and local art
Those interested in participating must register beginning at 8 a.m. at the Clarkdale-Jerome School. There is no pre-registration prior to the day of the event and no cost to enter. The parade is limited to children aged eighteen years and under.
Parade rules and registration forms are available online at clarkdale.az.gov/fourthofjuly. Please review the rules to avoid being turned away at registration.
The Verde Valley Fire District will offer free rides on the antique fire truck. At 8 a.m., free children’s carnival games, hosted by the Clarkdale-Jerome School and sponsored by Salt River Materials Group, will begin.
Around 9:30 a.m., the winners of the Kids’ Parade will be announced by the gazebo. The Cottonwood Community Band will conclude the festivities with a patriotic concert starting at 9:30 a.m.
