If dead men tell no tales, the Marauders of Mingus Union High School may be singing like Captain Jack Sparrow after Friday, Oct. 17.

“It doesn’t get easier,” junior Taylor Thagard said Friday, Oct. 10, after the Marauders won their second straight game, 41-18 over visiting Mohave High School. “We’re just getting better as we go along.

“With hard work and determination, I think we’re going to win the rest of our games and make it into the playoffs.”

With a victory at winless Kingman High School, the Marauders [3-4] — left for dead after an 0-3 start in which they scored a grand total of seven second-half points — would climb back to .500 and within five seeds of a Division III playoff berth.
