The Town of Camp Verde Planning and Zoning Commission continues to work on efforts to define “character areas” in the town.

Such places include areas like the Pecan Lane area along Montezuma Castle Highway.

Other areas include the State Route 260 corridor, Finnie Flat Road, Middle Verde and the area along Quarterhorse Lane.

A subcommittee of residents has been meeting to help discuss the vision behind these character areas and other possible development in Camp Verde.

The committee is working on ideas to incorporate into a new general plan for the town, which will go before voters in the near future.

Late last month, the commission met to receive feedback and further define those efforts.
