Shill, Meyer lead spring Mingus honors

Although neither had their season end to the level of their expectations, two Mingus Union High School spring sports figures earned high recognition from their peers for individual achievement.

Marauders senior pitcher Marshall Shill was not only named first-team all-section, on March 25, he received the Lew Shaw Courage Award from the Valley of the Sun chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame.

Head coach Andrea Meyer’s girls tennis team could only muster four wins in its inaugural Division II schedule, but Meyer was honored as Section III Coach of the Year in an announcement which even took her by surprise.
