A decade strong, Camp Verde’s Weekend Wars show no signs of slowing down.

Camp Verde High School assistant wrestling coach Mario Chagolla will host Cowboys underclassmen wrestlers as well as Nevada state champion Cimarron-Memorial and Pagosa Springs, Colo., high schools in the latest installment of the free tournament Saturday, May 24, at the wrestling room across from Camp Verde Heritage Pool at 290 W. Apache Trail.

“This is the place for quality mat time during the off season,” Chagolla said. “Everybody’s welcome. It’s one of the biggest attractions in the area, and 100 different schools show up. We never know who is going to walk through the door.”

And it’s all free of charge.
