The Town of Camp Verde is continuing to look for solutions to cut costs involved with the construction of a new library.
The project has been in the works for awhile, but recently hit a bit of a snag.
The Camp Verde Town Council rejected all bids for the construction of a new Camp Verde Town Library in June.
Seven bids had been received for the project, the lowest being around $3.1 million.
The initial plans had called for $1.8 million in financing for a 17,000-square-foot building with two stories.
Town Manager Russ Martin checked in with the council at its July 16 meeting to discuss the efforts that have been made toward cost reduction.
A group has met twice to look over the plans for the building, according to the architect, Joel Westervelt.
“We’ve been going through a list that’s relatively exhaustive,” Martin said.
