Placing in the individual tournament were senior Lucas Svoboda [second], senior Nick Doerksen [fifth], freshman Eli Miller [fourth] and junior Trent Miller [fifth]. Sophomore Ryan Griffin was one win away from placing.

On Jan. 10 at Coconino High School, Mingus split with the host Panthers and Chinle High School. It won 60-24 against Chinle, 30 of those points by way of forfeit, and lost 44-33 to Coconino.

Svoboda, Doerksen and Trent Miller pinned both of their opponents that day. Griffin was pinned by Chinle Nathan Wagner, but beat Coconino Marc Aruguete in a 4-2 decision.

Eli Miller was pinned against Coconino but got the win via pin against Chinle. Junior Michael Thurman pinned his Panther opponent, as did junior Nick Lodico. Thurman and Lodico did not wrestle against Chinle due to forfeits.

Sophomore Braden Arnold pinned his Chinle opponent.

Up next, the Marauders travel south to Coronado High School on Wednesday, Jan. 17, where they will take on the host Dons as well as Tempe High School and Raymond S. Kellis High School.
