Two Cottonwood wrestlers will be looking to return to the winners’ circle at their third state tournament in less than a month Saturday, Feb. 21.

Fifth-grader Elijah Miller and eighth-grader Alex Nelson will be joining 24 of their Mingus Mountain wrestling club teammates at the AZUSA Folkstyle Championships in Casa Grande after taking home silver medals Jan. 24 from their first state tournament at Tempe High School.

“They compete all the way from first grade to eighth grade, instead of just middle school like in Tempe,” said Klint McKean, Mingus Mountain head coach. “We’re sending a pretty big team of younger kids who we hope will do well, actually.”
