Thirteen swimmers won 36 events, as the Cottonwood Clippers boys and girls teams combined to score almost 5,000 points, doubling up the second-place Sedona Swordfish and dominating the Sedona Splash on Sunday, June 22.

The boys team on the swim club outscored the Swordfish by nearly 600 points while the girls finished first by more than 1,500 points at the four-team meet, at which Flagstaff club swim teams the Snow Sharks and Lumberjack Aquatics also participated.

“My swimmers really showed up and swam their best,” head coach Daniel Nevarez said. “They all exceeded any expectations any of my coaches or myself had for them. I could not be prouder of each and every one of them.”
