The Camp Verde Head Start program, which prepares young children for primary school and operates as part of a larger network throughout Northern Arizona, held “Head Start 101” last week to help educate people about the program.

The program in Camp Verde serves 100 children while the partner program in Beaver Creek serves 20, up to age 5.

Violet “Shine” Diaz, the family advocate for the Camp Verde and Beaver Creek Head Start program, outlined the core values of the organization, values that include quality, teamwork, perseverance, support, compassion, respect, consistency, integrity and professionalism.
