Things were smelling pleasant last week in the parking lot of the Outpost Mall on Finnie Flat Road, as volunteers with the local Kiwanis Club unloaded more than 200 Christmas trees in preparation of the annual tree sale.

‘Tis the season and the sale is the Kiwanis Club’s biggest fundraiser of the year.

The money raised from the sale of the trees stays local to benefit several different programs for students and children in the community. For more than three decades, the tree sale has been one of the year’s biggest fundraisers for the club.
