Cottonwood playground palette picked

After residents selected one of three designs for the new playground at Riverfront Park in mid-March, they were asked to select one of three color palettes. The city of Cottonwood’s public input process for residents to vote on the color palette for the new playground at Riverfront Park closed on March 23.

The playground design, which received 514 votes out of a total of 818 cast, during a previous public input period, includes a tower, long slides and climbing structures. Residents were able to choose from three color options:

• Option one would employ a bright turquoise for the slides, tower and climbing equipment, in combination with green secondary elements, brown support beams and a blue canopy.

• Option two would preserve the shades of green and brown used on the secondary elements while replacing the turquoise and blue with dark green. n Option three would use dark green for the slides, light green for the tower and support beams, a light shade of tan for the bars, climbing equipment and tower and a darker shade of tan for the canopy.

Voting took place via the city’s website and voters had to state whether or not they lived within the city limits.

A total of 101 votes were cast, with option one receiving a plurality of 47 votes, followed by option two with 31 votes and option three with 23 votes
