The driver of a 2006 black four-door Honda was pronounced dead after Department of Public Safety officials responded to a single-vehicle accident on Monday, Nov. 30.
The crash occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. near mile marker 336.1 on State Route 89A, about 8 miles south of Sedona. The driver has been identified as Ziek Sanchez, born 1989, of Cottonwood. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
The Honda was heading northbound when it began to drift to the left side of the road. It then over-corrected to the right, when it rolled multiple times, ejecting the driver, according to Andy Miller, dispatch supervisor at the DPS Flagstaff office.
