On Saturday, Nov. 14, VA medical centers across the country will participate in a first ever National Access Stand Down. A team of clinical leaders, administrators and volunteers will be on site at every VA medical center, including VA Center in Prescott, to reach out to all Veterans waiting for urgent care and to make sure that we are meeting their health care needs.
In keeping with VA’s commitment to improve transparency in our processes, and in accordance with Section 206 of the Veterans Access, Choice, and Accountability Act of 2014 (VACAA), VA regularly releases to stakeholders and the public updates of facility-level patient access data.
The Department of Veterans Affairs is committed to providing timely access to Veterans as determined by their clinical needs. We strive for all Veterans to have safe, high-quality, personalized, and timely care wherever they receive their health services. Toward this end, on Saturday, November 14, VA medical centers across the country will participate in a first ever National Access Stand Down.
A team of clinical leaders, administrators and volunteers will be on site at every VA medical center to reach out to all Veterans identified as having the most important and acute needs to make sure they can be seen either in VA or in the community. We are starting on November 14 with Veterans that are listed in our data systems as having the most urgent needs, but our efforts to fix the access issues will continue after that date. We will not rest until we fix our system in order to better the health needs of those that need our help most.     Â
NAVAHCS will begin working on Urgent Consults at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14, in the Director’s Conference Room, Bldg. 14. We don’t have an access issue at NAVAHCS but this is the first of many Access Stand Down Events we are going to host in order to keep it that way.Â
If you wish to attend this event, please contact Mary Dillinger at (928) 717-7587 Â so we can accommodate a seat for you in the Conference Room.Â
