Authors pack annual forum

Published:

For the third year in a row, a room at the Cottonwood Recreation Center was packed with local wordsmiths.

Saturday, Sept. 26, marked the Cottonwood Author’s Forum, an opportunity to get writers out there to meet the public and hopefully get their works into the hands of some avid readers.

A guitar player strummed away in the corner of the room as others strolled among the tables.

This year there were 36 authors and their books were varied.

There were books about the historic Route 66 and Death Valley.

There was one book about “mystical vapors.”

There even was a book about the parking lot of the Cottonwood Public Library, right next door.

“It Happened in the Cottonwood Library Parking Lot” is the first work from local author Ann Metlay.

Metlay herself was inspired to put the book on paper thanks to a local writing group that meets regularly at the library.
