The Mingus Union High School Marauders fell 33-6 to the Blue Ridge Yellowjackets on Friday, Sept. 13. The Marauders last played the Yellowjackets on Sept. 8, 2023, and eked out a narrow 28-27 win.
Blue Ridge’s Karlo Harris rushed for 224 yards with 9.3 yards per carry. On defense, Harris also forced a fumble and and had nine tackles.
Mingus’ Remington Stokes scored the team’s only touchdown on a 76-yard kickoff return 7:31 minutes into the third quarter. Junior Dawson Rice had 9 tackles; junior Jordan Watson and sophomore Wyatt Moncibaez both had 8 tackles.
Mingus is now 0-3 on the season. Blue Ridge remains undefeated at 4-0.
Mingus next faces the Copper Canyon High School Aztecs at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept 20.
