Some people take their health for granted and don’t even think about a doctor until they’re sick.
Yavapai County Community Health Services makes a point of thinking about it every working day and it touts its recent accomplishments in its 2011 annual report, released last month.
It wasn’t always easy, as the department had to deal with matters of health both physical and fiscal.
“A number of funding challenges were faced over the course of the year, resulting in the loss of some programs and cuts to others,” the report reads. “Tough decisions made by the section managers to maintain the financial viability of services were supported by staff throughout the organization and adjustments made with the future in mind. The opportunities created by these challenges have evolved into the strategic plan for 2012, with new goals aimed at marketing and outreach while seeking additional funding, and minimizing additional financial losses, to sustain vital services.”
