Gary Almada, 82, of Cottonwood, died Feb. 5.

He was a vice president of agriculture production for many years before his retirement. He recently received his 50-year pin from the Elks Club. He enjoyed camping and fixing up old cars.

He is survived by his wife Beverly; sons Jim [Donna] Almada (Donna) and Russell Shockey daughters Laura Almada, Evie [Dennis] Stillwell and Melanie [Frank] Shockey; and seven grandchildren.

She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and worked in corporate communications in insurance and health care for several years, handling marketing and public relations duties. A fur-mom to two cats and three dogs, she is semi-retired.
