Jeremiah Ray Coon died Sept. 7.

Born in Cottonwood, he graduated from Mingus Union High School and served in the U.S. Navy. He worked in construction, owned a smoke shop in Jerome and leathercrafted custom shoes.

He was preceded in death by his son Caleb, parents Delbert and Sybil Coon and sister Brenda.

He is survived by his son Jared and brother Dennis Coon. He will be missed by his long-time friend and companion Sandy Magid.
