Fred C. Howe, Ed.D., 86, of Camp Verde, died Aug. 16.
He was born to Mary and Henry Howe Jr. in El Paso, Texas. He graduated from Cottonwood High School in 1957 and attended Arizona State Teachers College in Flagstaff, where he met Darlene, the wife of 61 years.
He worked 33 years in education and as principal of Ray Junior High in Kearny. He later earned his doctorate in education from Northern Arizona University.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters Joanna and Edith; and his wife Darlene.
He is survived by his son, Danny [Melissa] Howe of Camp Verde; daughter, Sheryl Hitchcock of Apache Junction; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Sept. 12, at 10 a.m., at Parkside Community Church, 401 Camp Lincoln Road, Camp Verde. Donate to your local school district.
