The Camp Verde Artists Group opened an art show on Saturday, June 13, with the exhibit extended through June, July and August. Show your support for local artists. The Agave Gallery is located inside the Verde Valley Archaeology Center and Museum.
The exhibiting Camp Verde Artist Group members are Chianne Hope, Cindy S. Reay, E.L. Adams, Lacey Rather, group founder Mary Rush, Merle Rose, Sally Reeves and Zoe Reeves-Conway. Works include paintings, leather pouches, wall hangings and sculptures. The artwork varies in style and media with themes range from animals to landscapes to abstracts. It’s a beautiful show full of light and color.
“We are pleased to find a home at the Verde Valley Archaeology Center and Museum for our art,” Rush stated. “We named the gallery space, The Agave Gallery, to give it a sense of place for the artists.
The museum is a beautiful local cultural center that sets high standards, from its historical, beautiful displays to the knowledgeable staff. It’s a lovely site for local art. Now, museum visitors can view local art as they learn about local archaeology. I am grateful to the director of the museum, Monica Buckle, who has graciously opened the museum’s Kemper Meeting Room, now also known as The Agave Gallery, for our art exhibitions.”
Visitors may purchase works directly from the artists during the museum’s Summer open hours, Thursday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call the museum at 928-567-0006. The Verde Valley Archaeology Center is at 460 W. Finnie Flat Road, in Camp Verde.
