The Camp Verde Town Council approved distributing $20,000 in community outreach funds to eight nonprofit organizations at its regular meeting on June 3.
For fiscal year ’26, the town budgeted $20,000 to allocate to nonprofit organizations that directly impact residents of Camp Verde. This is a decrease in the prior fiscal year’s allocation of $50,000.
A committee consisting of Vice Mayor Wendy Escoffier, Councilor Robert Foreman and Councilor Patricia Seybold reviewed the 16 applications the town received.
The committee met with Town Manager Miranda Fisher to evaluate the applications and provide funding recommendations for council.
The funding distribution was approved as follows:
- Senior Citizens of Camp Verde: $2,450 for updating their kitchen to improve safety and ensure the ability to consistently serve meals.
- St. Vincent de Paul: $2,450 for aiding those in need of assistance with utilities and rent.
- Camp Verde Seventh-day Adventist: $2,600 for replacing tents with metal sheds to store equipment.
- America Youth Soccer Association: $2,000 for the planning and delivery of the Castle Classic in 2027.
- Wheel Fun: $2,000 to support the operations of after school bike clubs in Camp Verde for the 2026-27 academic year.
- Humane Society of Sedona: $3,000 for shelter care of Camp Verde animals.
- Verde Valley Sanctuary: $2,000 for supporting the Youth Empowerment Services program.
- Manzanita Outreach: $3,500 for the procurement and distribution of food.
Council unanimously approved the funding recommendations.
