the Cottonwood Municipal Airport’s runway use and traffic
pattern at a regular meeting held on Tuesday, Oct. 7. The
study will guide future decisions on flight pattern directions,
altitudes and runway use. The $34,796 study will be funded through the airport fund.

The Cottonwood City Council approved a contract for an airport traffic pattern and runway use analysis at their regular meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 7.
To be conducted by Coffman Associates Inc., the analysis will provide the city with information to determine the safest and best practices for setting traffic pattern altitude.
The two-part analysis will evaluate existing traffic patterns and runway use, including directions of traffic patterns, altitude of traffic patterns, and use of the calm wind runway. After collecting this data, Coffman Associates will prepare an alternatives analysis for potential changes in the directions of traffic patterns, the designation of a calm wind runway, adjustments to traffic pattern altitudes, and modifications to the recommended flight paths.
A summary report will be provided and, if requested, representatives will present findings to the City Council and/or Airport Commission.
The analysis is budgeted in the airport fund and will cost no more than $34,796.
