Camp Verde Parks and Recreation is getting ready for the eighth season of its Summer Day Camp, a trusted, enriching program for local kids who have completed kindergarten through sixth grade. The camp is the only municipal-run camp in Arizona accredited by the American Camp Association, and it offers a safe, active and affordable place for kids to spend their summer days learning, exploring and having fun.
Camp runs from June 2 through July 24, Monday through Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Kids take part in themed weeks, hands-on activities, sports, swimming, arts and crafts and field trips, plus partnerships with the library and local guest speakers. While campers bring their own lunches, Parks and Recreation provides snacks, water, transportation and all activity costs. The camp is located at the Town Complex in downtown Camp Verde, using classrooms, the gym, the kitchen and outdoor fields.
While the full camp cost is $22 per camper per day, the town is committed to keeping it affordable at just $13 per day so more families can participate. To do that, the town is seeking $11,000 in sponsorships to cover the difference.
We’re asking individuals, businesses and community organizations to step in and help. Donations can be made as a one-time gift, split into two installments at the end of June and July or structured in a way that works for you. You can also choose to sponsor based on actual camper attendance.
Every dollar goes directly to reducing fees for families and creating a better experience for our campers. As a thank-you, sponsors will be recognized in flyers, registration materials, press releases, signage at camp and our weekly newsletter that goes to families each week.
Your support helps make summer camp possible for every child in our community, regardless of income. If you’d like to be part of something that truly makes a difference for local families, please reach out to Camp Verde Parks and Recreation at Parks@campverde.az.gov or (928) 554-0820 ext. 3.
