Turquoise Circuit Finals Rodeo says goodbye to Camp Verde and moves to Cave Creek

Published:

After four years in Camp Verde, the Turquoise Circuit Finals Rodeo will be moving to Cave Creek, north of Phoenix, for the 2025 rodeo season.

This year’s event will take place on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. The location in Cave Creek will be announced during the summer.

The Turquoise Circuit is part of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association’s circuit system, which includes rodeos and athletes in New Mexico and Arizona and gives them the opportunity to compete for regional titles and a national championship, according to a press release.

“We are so grateful to the Camp Verde Equestrian Center and the Town of Camp Verde for being our home these past four years,” Turquoise Circuit Finals Rodeo President James Horcasitas said. “We felt truly welcomed, and it was an honor to bring the best rodeo athletes from New Mexico and Arizona into such a supportive community. As we look ahead to the future, we’re excited to build on that foundation and bring this incredible event to Cave Creek.”

Rodeo staff also said that the Cave Creek Rodeo is a well-established and respected event known for its professionalism, tradition and enthusiastic fanbase.

Camp Verde Town Manager Miranda Fisher said that town staff were aware the rodeo was considering a move and that they had been kept informed throughout the decision- making process.

“While we are certainly disappointed to see the event relocate, for 2025, we wish them continued success in their new location,” Fisher said, adding that it was a great opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate it Western heritage, and it would certainly be missed.

Staff for the Camp Verde Arena Association and the town said that they are evaluating new opportunities to bring in events that highlight the unique character of Camp Verde and support the local economy.
