Published:

Council candidate: Brian Bolton, Camp Verde resident of 43 years

Age: 55

Current or past profession: Construction, heavy equipment operator

Q: Why are you qualified to serve on council?

A: “I am a local and have been involved for years in many organizations that support the community and youth of the Verde Valley. “My family and I have volunteered throughout the years at many events that take place at Jackpot Ranch.

“I am dedicated to watching the youth of our community grow and provide them a safe place to grow up.”

Q: How would you help advise the completion of the Camp Verde Sports Complex?

A: “Direct guidance is necessary. I believe that with the background I have in the construction and building profession, I can help others understand the process and what it is going to take to complete a project of this size. I can give ideas and suggestions that can be used instead of focusing on one plan.”

Q: How do you plan to balance growth while maintaining Camp Verde’s rural and Western lifestyle?

A: “Growth is inevitable and it is possible to allow the growth to take place in areas that are not going to affect Camp Verde’s existing agricultural lifestyle. This can be managed by supporting our small-town farms and businesses that are already growing in Camp Verde.”

Q: What is your vision for economic development in Camp Verde, especially along the State Route 260 corridor?

A: “The State Route 260 corridor in Camp Verde is an area that can be used to focus on business growth in our town, instead of continuing to grow in areas that represent our rural and Western Lifestyle. This includes our farming and agricultural properties.”

Q: What kind of direction would you give to the incoming town manager?

A: “To manage and keep the general public’s best interest in mind. Stay neutral, know the background and don’t get influenced by one side.”
