Camp Verde Hires Mabery as Interim Town Manager

Published:

Gayle Mabery has been hired as Camp Verde’s interim town manager following the departure of longtime Town Manager Russ Martin after the Camp Verde Town Council opted not to renew his contract, which expires in March.

Mabery previously served as the Clarkdale town manager for 21 years, retiring in 2019.

She will officially start in the position during the week of Jan. 2. Mabery said she plans on “continuing to work with staff to make sure those projects are moving forward and any other variety of things that come up in the life of the town manager.”

Camp Verde is still looking for a permanent town manager. The town currently plans to keep Mabery in the interim role until around Thursday, June 1.

During her time as town manager, Mabery will be involved in directing the town’s budget planning process and a number of large capital improvement projects that are in the works.
