Since officially purchasing Camp Verde Water System Inc., on May 31, the town of Camp Verde has been in the process of setting up payment services at its new location at 395 S. Main Street.
Prior to the purchase, the town says it notified residents of the change of ownership as well as the new location where residents can bring their payments.
However, since some residents remain uncertain about payments and other information, the town plans on sending out a letter to address their concerns.
The letter should arrive to residents next week. Meanwhile, a copy of a “welcome letter” dated June 16, was given to the Camp Verde Journal by Camp Verde Town Manager Russ Martin.
In the letter, Martin explained that despite a change of ownership, there will not be a rate increase.
“First and foremost, the question on everyone’s mind is, “Are rates going up?” No, they are not. Rates will remain exactly as they are,” Martin stated.
“The Town’s Water Division will be housed at 395 S. Main St., the same location as our Wastewater Division, which is the building attached to the gym here in town. Mari and Jessica will still be your main points of contact for water services and can be reached at (928) 554-0850.”
“The hours of operation will be Mondays through Thursdays, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Fridays, 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. There is a drive-up drop box available for payments located in the alley on the south side of the Town Hall building located at 473 S. Main,” he said.
Cash payments are accepted at the drop box, despite the sign reading “no cash.” The box will be repainted soon to reflect the changes.
Currently, an online payment option is still in the works.
Additionally, payments for water and wastewater shall remain separate, for now.
“We should be able to take online payments via credit card soon; however, this option is still under construction. This will probably not happen until the Water and Wastewater invoicing systems are combined to include both amounts on one bill. If you have only a water or wastewater bill currently, that is all you will have when the bills are combined,” Martin said.
Martin added that the town hopes the letter “answers most of your questions and alleviates many, if not all, of your concerns.”
“We promise to work hard to keep services exceptional and ask that you would be patient as we make this transition. We thank you for your support and look forward to the years ahead. Should you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at (928) 554-0850.”
