Cottonwood police search for drive-by shooting vehicle

A witness in the 1200 block of E. Gila Street heard what he described as four to six gunshots at 12:11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 6. The witness also believed the vehicle involved to be some type of passenger car.

Responding Cottonwood police officers arrived on scene and found several shell casings, along with expended rounds in the exterior of a nearby home in the 1300 block of E. Gila Street.

Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.

Residents of the home, who were inside at the time the shots were fired, could not provide any suspects that may have been involved in this crime, when interviewed.

The Cottonwood Police Department is actively investigating this drive by shooting and are seeking the public’s assistance through for any leads or assistance in identifying and locating the person or persons responsible.

“We believe someone out there may know something or may learn something to assist
us in identifying and locating the person or persons responsible,” CPD Cmdr. Gareth Braxton-Johnson stated.
