Body of missing person from Jerome discovered

Published:

The body of missing person Caroline Denise Guth from Jerome has been found.

On Tuesday, June 22 at about 11:30 a.m. the body of a female was discovered in Jerome on a steep slope off State Route 89A, according to the Jerome Police Department. The body was identified as Guth, who had been reported missing on June 14.

Initial investigation indicates that she fell approximately 150 feet down the very steep slope, sustaining substantial injuries. She came to rest in a bushy area that obscured visibility of the body from air or ground searches.

The Jerome Fire Department assisted in recovering Guth as a steep angle rope system was required to safely recover her body from where it was located.
