On Tuesday, Sept. 15, the Yavapai County School Education Service Agency released the following press release:
“Yavapai County School Superintendent Tim Carter invites voters from the Cottonwood Oak Creek School District, Mingus Union High School District, and Clarkdale-Jerome School District to attend an informal “School District Consolidation Question and Answer Meeting” about the School Consolidation question that will be on the November 3, 2020 ballot. The focus of discussion will be on the 55 page “Informational Pamphlet Consolidation Plan” that you should receive in the mail about September 25th.
Superintendent Carter will be the only speaker. He will not make a formal presentation. He will simply answer questions from the audience. This is a NOT a campaign event and NO political statements for or against will be allowed. It is an opportunity to ask questions about those things that are in the Informational Pamphlet Consolidation Plan. Many of the venues have a limited capacity due to COVID-19 and are available on a first come first serve basis. There will be social distancing within the room. Events at Yavapai College require a signed COVID-19 waiver for admission.
The schedule for five events is as follows:
- Tuesday, September 29, 10 am – Town of Clarkdale Auditorium
- Tuesday, September 29, 1 pm – Yavapai County Annex, Board of Supervisors Meeting Room, Cottonwood
- Wednesday, September 30,10 am – Yavapai County Annex, Board of Supervisors Meeting Room, Cottonwood
- Friday, October 2,3 pm – Town of Clarkdale Auditorium
- Friday, October 2,5 pm – Yavapai College, Verde Valley Campus, Clarkdale
