Driver airlifted after head-on collision on Beaverhead Flat Road

On Thursday, July 25, around 2:30 p.m., two vehicles collided on Beaverhead Flat Road, at milemarker 2.5, between Cornville and the Village of Oak Creek.

Witness statements, evidence, and the initial investigation collected by Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office deputies indicate an eastbound 2014 Lexus SUV crossed into the westbound lane and collided with a 2001 Toyota SUV.

Both vehicles rotated counterclockwise and overturned with the Lexus coming to rest on its roof.

One driver was flown to Flagstaff and the other transported to the Verde Valley Medical Center, in Cottonwood by ambulance.

According to YCSO, injuries do not appear life-threatening based on early information.
