Teams of law enforcement, firefighters, medical and public safety personnel will be streaming onto the Cliff Castle Casino-Hotel property on Tuesday, March 26, from 7 to 9 a.m., for an Emergency Preparedness Drill, the first of its kind, to ever be held at an Arizona casino.
Different scenarios will be enacted at the casino in order to hone specialized skills, necessary for use in the event of a real emergency, according to a press release.
James Perry, Cliff Castle director of marketing expressed his support for this on-site exercise.
“On behalf of the entire team at Cliff Castle Casino-Hotel, we are pleased to partner with our first responders for this critical emergency preparedness activity,” Perry said.
Cliff Castle leadership, in conjunction with law enforcement, believes that holding this drill in a real-world setting will offer unique opportunities for all involved. Specifically, it will allow for circumstances to be experienced which would otherwise not be possible if held inside an empty building or in a large outdoor area.
Following the drill, the teams will debrief, critique and refine their responses and skills as necessary.
The Cliff Castle Emergency Preparedness Drill will take place in the casino, from 7 to 9 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26. The casino floor will be closed for this two-hour time frame. During this time, casino and hotel guests are welcome to remain on property in the casino’s Event Center.
Representatives from Cliff Castle Casino-Hotel, Copper Canyon Fire & Medical District, the Camp Verde Marshal’s Office and the Yavapai Apache Police Department will be available for interviews.
