Cottonwood streets get asphalt treatment

Published:

The city of Cottonwood has begun its street asphalt preservation project. Beginning Monday, June 4, several streets in town will receive a street seal; work will impact normal traffic flow of these streets.

During this work, one side of the street will be closed up to four hours while work is being performed and the asphalt seal cures. Expect potential traffic delays in these areas. See the schedule below for roadway work.

Monday, June 4, beginning at 7 p.m.:

  • 10th Street, north of Main Street to the Verde River bridge south of Dead Horse State Park.
  • Willard Street from State Route 89A to Main Street.

There will be no work Tuesday, June 5.

Wednesday, June 6:

  • Brian Mickelsen Parkway, from Mingus Avenue to the south entrance into the Cottonwood Recreation Center.
  • Clover Way, anticipated in the morning.
  • Crimson Road, anticipated in the afternoon.

Thursday, June 7:

  • Brian Mickelsen Parkway, from the south entrance into the Cottonwood Recreation Center to Sixth Street.
  • 12th Street from Fir Street to State Route 89A.

All local businesses and residences in the affected areas will remain accessible during this work. Exercise caution and obey all traffic control signals while traveling in these areas.
