Camp Verde Community Library, Arizona Community Foundation aid nonprofits

Published:

Camp Verde area nonprofit leaders, take note: The Arizona Community Foundation of Sedona is hosting a free grant workshop at Camp Verde Community Library on Thursday, Jan. 18.

The workshop is required for any organization seeking grant funding through the ACF of Sedona’s 2018 competitive grant process, which begins Thursday, March 1, and ends Wednesday, March 21. All grant applicants, whether nonprofits, public schools, municipalities or tribal entities, must provide services within the Verde Valley or Sedona.

According to Tracey McConnell, director of ACF of Sedona Affiliates and the area’s regional philanthropic advisor, the workshop will cover “application instructions, eligibility requirements, guidelines and an overview of the online grants center and application process.”

“The ACF of Sedona and its collaborative partners awarded over $244,000 to 50 nonprofits through the 2017 competitive grants process,” McConnell said. “Thanks to the generosity of local donors, the ACF, an anonymous family foundation and local funding partner Northern Arizona Healthcare Foundation, the collaborative funding in 2017 enabled the ACF of Sedona to greatly expand the amount invested in the local community.”

McConnell said ACF of Sedona staff will be on hand to answer questions.

“Grant funding may be awarded in interest areas including but not limited to animal welfare, arts and culture, educa- tion, environment and sustainability, behavioral health, tolerance and diversity, social services, children, senior citizens and individuals with disabilities,” she said.

According to McConnell, while regis- tration for the event is free, space is limited. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. in the Camp Verde Community Library Terracotta Room. The event lasts from 1 to 2:30 p.m. T
