Brina Church
Cowboys Soccer Player
Where are you from?
Camp Verde.
What sports do you play?
Mainly soccer, but I used to play softball and volleyball.
Which is your favorite? Why?
By far soccer. I’ve been playing it since I was really little and I just like the girls I’ve been playing with. They’re really like family.
What’s the worst part?
Playing on a team, too, because you have other people to focus on, it’s not just yourself.
Do you have any favorite professional sports teams or athletes?
Tim Howard [USA men’s national soccer team goalkeeper] because I myself am a keeper.
What’s your favorite thing to do outside of sports?
I’m kind of a nerd. I really like school; I like studying.
Favorite class?
Anything to do with science or sports medicine.
Favorite television show?
“Grey’s Anatomy.”
What do you aspire to be when you’re older?
Either a physician’s assistant or a dermatologist.
What kind of valuable lessons have sports taught you?
Just to not think of myself, I have other girls to look out for and they always have my back.
Who’s been the most influential person in your life?
Nathan Hardy. He’s coached me ever since I was little.
