Two individuals have been arrested in connection to a homicide that occurred in Camp Verde, on Oct. 10.

The suspects, 27-year-old Levi Jones, of the Phoenix area, and 28-year-old Jill Buckley, of Camp Verde, are in custody.

At 2:20 a.m., Oct. 10, the Camp Verde Marshal’s Office received a phone call about a physical altercation at the Circle K located at 24 Finnie Flat Road. According to CVMO, “a short time later” they received a second phone call of a shooting.

When deputies arrived on scene, they located several witnesses and a 31-year-old deceased male, longtime Camp Verde resident “Kyle” John Warren Silva, inside the store. Silva died on scene.

“Information obtained from the investigation is that there was a physical altercation between two females, one associated with the suspect and one associated with the deceased,” CVMO stated via press release. “As the victim walked toward the two females, the suspect shot him. The suspect subsequently left.”

The suspect, identified soon after the investigation as Jones, was confirmed to be in custody of the Phoenix Police Department’s Fugitive Apprehension Investigative Detail in San Tan Valley, Pinal County, at 1 p.m. on Oct. 11.

CVMO and the Yavapai County Attorney’s Office are furthering the investigation in concert with the FAID.

According to CVMO Commander Jacquelyn MacConnell, “It does appear [the suspect and the victim] knew one another prior to the incident.”

A funeral service for Silva will be held at noon, Wednesday, Oct. 19, at Parkside Church, 401 Camp Lincoln Road, Camp Verde. The viewing will be held one hour prior to the funeral service.

The family has requestsed that in lieu of flowers contributions be made in Silva’s name to the Wildland Firefighter Foundation.
