Mingus Union High School swimmers Gunner Tillemans and Sean Williams continued their hot summer, joining Zoey Arwine and two 8-year-olds in propelling the Cottonwood Clippers to their fourth straight Sedona Splash crown.
Grayson Edwards and Kenzie Fangman were also high-points finishers — in the boys and girls 8-and-under categories, respectively — as 67 Clippers teamed up to defeat four other club swimming teams, including the host Sedona Swim Team.
“Grayson and Kenzie, they’re really starting to understand their strokes in their second year on the swim team,” said Clippers head coach Daniel Nevarez. “Being 7, it can be very overwhelming — you’re just trying to get across the pool — but when it starts clicking, look out.”
