Black raising twins, coaching wrestling, remodeling homes

Published:

Travis Black started wrestling when he was in the third grade.

His involvement with the sport continued all the way through high school.

Black has continued to keep up his involvement, and has been a coach at Camp Verde High School for about six years.

Originally from Brighton, Colo., north of Denver, Black has been in Camp Verde for nearly a decade.

“I lived in Prescott Valley and then we bought a house out here,” Black said.

Black has since bought a few more properties.

Black and his wife, Shay, have quite a few rental properties that help bring in some income.

The couple met in Arizona and have two children, twins Tristan and Victoria.

Black said that it has been an amazing experience.

“It was awesome,” Black said. “I was happy just to have one, but with twins, you just can’t beat it.”

Black came to Arizona after serving three years in the Navy, including a tour of the Persian Gulf.

“And everywhere on the way there and the way back,” Black said.
