Anyone with an opinion about a proposed increase to water and wastewater rates in and around Cottonwood have one more chance to make their voice heard.
A final public hearing is set for 6 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 13, at the Cottonwood Recreation Center, 150 S. Sixth St. The Cottonwood City Council may vote on the increase after the hearing.
The plan will charge people who obtain water from Cottonwood but live outside city limits more than residents within Cottonwood.
The proposed increase would raise rates incrementally over five years.
Rates would still be reviewed each year to determine how much the city feels it needs to charge.
Under the proposed rate schedule, an average home with a water bill of $25 would see that increase initially to $27. Outside city limits, an average $30.37 bill would increase to $32.19.
