Mingus Union High School used the Desert Vista Last Chance Invitational to show why it remains the favorite to capture a third straight state track title beginning Friday, May 9.

Sophomore Megan Goettl got her second gold medal with a personal record in the 3,200 meters at the invitational, while seniors Ryan Talbot and Justine Taylor also medaled April 30, as the Marauders girls team prepares for a shot at its third straight Division III state championship.

“It’s not going to be easy,” said head track coach Yancey DeVore. “State’s always a challenge.”
