Board considers river access site

Published:

The Yavapai County Board of Supervisors is discussing the creation of a new access point for the Verde River.
The proposal would provide for a road and parking lot by the Mingus Avenue extension bridge where it crosses the river.

“There are currently around 13 access points as you go down the river,” said Kenny VanKeuren, director of the Yavapai County Facilities Department.

The proposed access point would be created on lands that belong to Yavapai County and Arizona State Parks, although the state park organization won’t be paying for any of the project.
