Town’s marshal, manager face new residency rules

Published:

After denying Camp Verde Town Marshal Nancy Gardner permission to live in Munds Park a couple of times over the past several months, a divided Camp Verde Town Council approved new rules last month governing residency requirements for key town employees.

Under the new rules, the Town Council voted 4-3 to make it so that a town manager and town marshal must either live in Camp Verde or at least the 86322 ZIP code within 120 days of their date of hire.

Council members Bruce George, Bradford Gordon and Robin Whatley voted against approving the new requirements, with Mayor Charlie German and council members Jackie Baker, Jessie Jones and Carol German voting in support.
