Verde Valley Farmers Market now open

The Verde Valley Farmers Market is up and running in Camp Verde.

Each Saturday, until October, visitors to the market will be greeted by the sights and smells of fresh locally grown garlic, onions, flowers, specialty soaps and a host of other produce and vegetables.

This is the market’s eighth year of operation in Camp Verde, market manager Jane Davie said, and it has been attracting fairly decent crowds in its first two weeks this season.

“We’ve been really busy today,” Davie said, speaking over the sounds of a nearby guitar player serenading shoppers, browsers and vendors with his own take on some classic tunes. “We like to brag that everything here has been grown within 50 miles of Camp Verde.
