ADEQ helps residents safely dispose of hazardous waste

Published:

When people think of hazardous waste, barrels of radioactive sludge may come to mind. The truth is that there’s a lot more hazardous material likely sitting around the house.

While it might not be as dangerous as plutonium, items like old paint, car batteries, oil and even old fluorescent lights could pose a danger to the environment if not disposed of properly.

With that in mind, the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality is teaming up with Yavapai County Public Works and other agencies across the state to provide an incentive for residents to get rid of potentially hazardous garbage as part of a host of activities in the lead-up to Earth Day, Sunday, April 22.
