Published:

Dorothy FireCloud will be taking over the reins as superintendent of Montezuma Castle and Tuzigoot national monuments.

The decision was announced last week by the National Park Service’s Intermountain Region office in Denver.

FireCloud, a 20-year employee with the federal government, is currently serving as superintendent of Devils Tower National Monument in Wyoming, the first national monument designated by President Teddy Roosevelt in 1906.

FireCloud will be replacing current Superintendent Kathy Davis, who retires this month. FireCloud will take over the position Sunday, June 17, according to the announcement.
