Yavapai County may get big share of ADOT cash

Published:

The Arizona Department of Transportation has taken some hits to its budget in recent years, but the agency is still moving forward with a new proposed five-year plan to improve highways and other facilities around the state.

The new plan lays out projected spending for a variety of projects ranging from interstates to airports.

There’s less money available this year compared with the plan released last year, according to the ADOT public relations office.

This year’s plan calls for around $940 million to be spent on highway infrastructure each year through 2017, down from last year’s projected $1.1 billion. Around $126 million is projected to be spent each year on airports and other aviation projects.
